Religions from Lancashire: Astronism is founded in the city of Preston by Cometan

Astronism constitutes a new religious movement that has been founded in the city of Preston in the county of Lancashire in the North West of England by a young man named mononymously as Cometan in a book called the Omnidoxy.

It is a new system of belief that is entirely based on an astronomical theme through its cosmocentric worldview. And all this was created by Cometan in and around the city of Preston in Lancashire.

Lancashire has a rich history of founding monumental change in the world. It is the birthplace of the industrial revolution for a start and now, we are seeing another movement emerging from the county that is set to change the world yet again. This movement exists in the form of a new philosophy or religion called Astronism.

Although Astronism holds its own roots in Lancashire, the tradition of religion from which it descends holds a widespread global history. The Astronic tradition holds its origins in the Upper Palaeolithic period of the Stone Age some 40,000 years ago which makes it the world's oldest religious tradition. Astronism comes from such a rich history of religion, philosophy, and science and the continued exploration of that history is a top priority for Astronist scholarship.
